Today I’ll show you how to use marbles to create a stunning flow painting!  There is lots of room to play with this process for some awesome effects!

Sumi-e Great Blue Heron Waits

Learn how to capture the essence of a subject with simplicity and spontaneity using traditional sumi brushes and black ink. We’ll begin with a demo of the very meditative process of making ink on a grinding stone and move on to the brush strokes that will evoke the spirit of our subject!

The Great Blue Heron is a symbol of patience and watchfulness… a particularly fitting subject for using the sumi-e technique!😊

We will expand on the inherent versatility of acrylics by adding other mediums, specialty papers, 3D embellishments and whatever else suits our fancy!

Today we’ll create an Abstract Cityscape. I had a wonderful time misting with inks and dyes on ripped book paper on canvas. We will use our acrylics and palette knives too As always there is lots of room for innovation in the mixed media classes!
