Explore the unique joys of working with acrylics – one of the most versatile and forgiving mediums of them all.

The awesome photos from the Webb telescope have been much in the news lately, so I thought it would be fun to paint a cosmic image ourselves! We’ll use iridescent medium and glazes of color to create a celestial painting all our own. As is so often the case, it will be easy to shift the colors – of course I will be happy to show you how!

Sumi-e Cathedral in the Clouds

Learn how to capture the essence of a subject with simplicity and spontaneity using traditional sumi brushes and black ink. We’ll begin with a demo of the very meditative process of making ink on a grinding stone and move on to the brush strokes that will evoke the spirit of our subject.

Today, I’ll show you how to use sumi-e brushes and inks to mimic this lovely acrylic painting of a ‘Cathedral in the Clouds’ that some of you painted with me a few years ago. I’ve been wanting to do so for a while so I look forward to capturing it’s essence with you!😊

Today we’ll paint this Fun and Easy abstract inspired by a photo by Melissa VC. I’ll show you how to capture  an abstracted landscape sundown silhouette and it’s reflection using sponges and palette knives! There will be lots of room to play with the color of this one if you’re not particularily fond of orange – of ocourse I’ll show you how!

Flow Painting Nebula Flip and Drag

Pouring, puddling, dripping, swiping… these classes will explore the exciting possibilities in the technique often called Pour Acrylics!

Today I’ll show you how to utilize negative space and a flip and drag  technique to create a cosmic nebula with Acrylic Pour!

As always in an acrylic flow painting class if you prefer to try something else, there is plenty of time for you to do whatever acrylic pour technique you wish and I’ll assist to the best of my ability😊

Flow Painting Star Burst Swipe Technique

Pouring, puddling, dripping, swiping… these classes will explore the exciting possibilities in the technique often called Pour Acrylics! These paintings are gorgeous as is or as the background for your next project.

Today I’ll show you a process using a cool new Swipe material inspired by one of  BRTurnerArt’s videos to create a Star Burst pattern-  I added a balloon kiss here and there on one of mine and blew out a flower on another- but there is lots of room to play with this process for some amazing star burst effects…

As always in an acrylic flow painting class if you prefer to try something else, there is plenty of time for you to do whatever acrylic pour technique you wish and I’ll assist to the best of my ability😊
