With my love of soft pastels & the popularity of my soft pastel classes I use a lot of pastel papers😄 Here I've painted bristol board & regular pastel paper with Clear Liquitex Gesso to make a lovely sanded surface at a fraction of the cost of pre sanded papers - beloved by pastel artists for the extra layers of pastel we can add without heavy fixative 🥰😄🎨 #softpasteltechniques #unleashyourinnerartist #artcommunity$

Pastel classes are affectionately coined 'Messy Finger time' in ZanArt classes 😄 My students are quite familiar with my tendency to use my fingers no matter the medium we're working with, but with soft pastels we all keep a damp rag handy 😉 This Wednesday we're painting 'Blue Ridge Mountain Rays' with our soft pastels at Thomas Place Community Rec Center - we'd love for you to join us 🎨🥰😄 Supplies are free in your first class with me!
